200 on NVA’s White Bike ‘Ride Out’ for Glasgow International 2010

Apr 15, 2010

NVA have released 50 white bikes across the city in a re-enactment of the infamous Witte Fietsenplan (White Bike Plan). The Glasgow International audience are free to use these bikes to travel between venues for the duration of the 2010 festival. The original anarchist action was a free transport programme initiated by the Provos, a Dutch counter culture movement of the 1960’s who released white painted bikes for anyone to use around Amsterdam. Accompanied by another 150 cycling supporters, the impressive congregation stopped traffic…

A Witte Fietsenplan (White Bike Plan) booklet was produced to accompany the project. It features artwork and information on the original action and explains why NVA felt compelled to hold a re-enactment. You can get your own booklet for £2.70 including P+P.
