stories from benin
inside - How nice Africans react on children (having a son of 1,5
years); how people are friendly, laughing, chatting although they have only the most
necessary things to live.
outside - Increasing violence - two weeks ago a friend of mine was
killed when a gang wanted to steal a car (which was not even belonging to him). He
was just at the wrong moment at the wrong place. So far, Benin was a quiet
country, only with small criminality, but it starts to change its character and where
does it go?
future - The difference between rich and poor will be bigger; the
information systems we are using will develop in an incredible speed but at the same
time poorness and ignorance of ecology will destroy the last nature reserves -
and things will be worse. But perhaps, mankind is destroying itself
thereby...
