stories from chile
inside - My last trip to South East Asia. I was bewildered
by how different people can be and how determined
they (we) are by the place in which they (we) are
born. Amazing! Religion, aesthetic sensibility,
human relationships... everything is so country
specific!
outside - There has not been any special "local event" that
has affected me in any way in the last few months.
I can only think of some modern arts exhibits I
have seen (Dali, Picasso, Braque) which are not
frequently available around here.
future - I think life 100 years from now will be something
completely unimaginable today, just as life now
couldn't be foreseen in the late XIX century.
I think societies will "evolve" to overcome
technocratic capitalism ruling the world today,
just to be replaced by something even more
bizarre.
I think we will have a different approach to
technology, considering it a commodity instead
of an end in itself, kind of what happens in
Japan today.
But, in the whole, everything will be the same.
People striving to live the best they can,
settling down as comfortably as possible, and
developing the best part of themselves with
a sexual partner & family.
