stories from ghana

inside - It saddens me to see that not only in Ghana - but all over the 3rd world countries, the rich get richer and the poor more poorer. After all how much wealth, amenities, comfort etc does each individual require. We keep on taking from this world more than we need - without giving back anything. If only we learnt to give back to this world something - each in his own little way - the world would be such a happier place to live in.
outside - The recent local event is the Election of a GHANAIAN - our fellow country-man - as head of the United Nations. He has done us all proud !!!
future - We all live with HOPE ! The future looks bleak - but can we loose HOPE !!

inside - My life has been one of experiences Numerous experiences: good |;-) & bad |:-( , inspiring or inexplicable, some have taught me
moral lessons, othershave left me worse off & more demoralised |:=( than before.
But: in all, as life is not a straight path, ups / & downs \ , inregularities and disappointments help to build a solid and mature intellect and a more reasonable mentality towards the harsh realities of existance. The experience which has inspired me most recently is one which occured barely a month ago, when I was involved in an accident. A simple deat-belt worked miracles. The car had to be practically sawn apart but not a single person get hurt. I have lernt to listen tothe advice of the experts and save myself from calamity, jeopardy, perils and an early exit from existence. I am inspired. Do likewise!
outside - The local event which has affected me most recently is the election in GHANA. Never in my existence has there been so much tension in our country. The sordid and morbid turn of events in some African nations put fear into the citicens of this country as we went to the polls, fearing rivalry and its attendant hostility and to the extreme, warfare. But through intense public education and supplication to the Almighzy, all went well and we are all at peace with ourselves and our neighbours. I feel we have conquered disasters, catastrophe and calamity - at least for the time being. I feel like an "overcomer" if anything like that exists.
future - In the future 100 years from now as I see it, people will be practically un-occupied from lack of (or unavailability of) manual labour and automatous will be salaried. The renumeration will be used for the maintenance and upkeep of gadgets and robots. Man will not even need to feed himself if he has the where-with all and the Third World would have developed into an ultra-modern world. If the Third World becomes ultra-modern, what will the super-powers be? The planets will be their holiday resorts and the sky will not be far away enough to be limited.
